"The white 2019 Monopole Clásico wants to take us to the wines produced with Viura and Palomino in the old times. The grapes were very healthy, picked the second half of September with power, clout and balance. It's 13.3% alcohol and has a pH of 3.25 and 5.87 grams of acidity (tartaric acid per liter of wine). What makes this white unique is that it contains a small amount of Manzanilla (the biological Sherry produced in the village of Sanlúcar de Barrameda). It's a bit shy and has subtle notes of Sherry, tasty and salty, with a long, dry finish. It slowly opens up, revealing notes of spices and aromatic herbs and a clean and balanced palate. Despite the warm year, the wine has good freshness. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2021. Drink 2022-2028."

CVNE has always been a very dynamic company. They are increasing their holdings to produce more white wines in the Reserva and even Gran Reserva categories. So, there are some new wines this year. They are increasing their vineyards, purchasing old ones and planting new ones. Today, they cover 50% of their grape needs with the fruit from their own vineyards and purchase the rest. They produce between four and five million bottles, depending on the vintage.

On a different note, they purchased the Castillo Davallilo in the village of San Asensio and are restoring the castle, where they'd like to make some wine (ideally starting in 2024), but I'm not sure they'll get al the necessary permits, so somewhere nearby, as they also have some terraces and vines. It should be open to the public for tourism and a tasting room in a shorter time, maybe in one and a half years.
