"The 2015 Tumba del Rey Moro showed more Mediterranean, it's the wine from Ávila that shows a character that is closer to the wines from Rozas. However, the palate is sharper and austere, with tons of minerality and good freshness, especially for the vintage, that once the wine is in your mouth, all of a sudden, the Mediterranean warmth disappeared and the wine feels more balanced than what the nose had pointed at. 1,924 bottles produced."

"Subtle aromas of rose petals and hints of red fruits such as redcurrants in combination with cedary undertones. Beautiful intensity characterised by a savory fruit character. Long finish and beautifully polished tannins. Ethereal yet intense. Made from a single vineyard of 80-year-old, north-facing grenache in the Gredos mountain range near Madrid. Drink now or hold."

Tumba del Rey Moro is an absurd vineyard. It has all the appearance of the aftermath of an ancient landslide with several small natural terraces irregularly planted with vines at 1,100 meters. Here you can find a similar granitic sandy soil as their other sites, but with more pink than grey granite as well as more quartz. Like its siblings it is pale in color, but tasting it makes you wonder if this is what Marcel Lapierre could have done at Château Rayas had he the chance. Grenache (60–70 years old) are hand-harvested, fermented with natural yeast in open vats and aged 12 months in 500-liter and 700-liter French oak barrels.

Comando G's latest Garnacha red, the new Tumba del Rey Moro, is unique, razor sharp, completely over the top, and extremely limited... in short: Garnacha like never tasted before.
